This spring Coastal Carolina University Baseball unveiled it's brand new $15 million dollar baseball stadium. Springs-Brooks stadium is the new home of the Chanticleers baseball program. The stadium can hold 5,000+ fans and coupled with the $1.5 million dollar hitting facility located over the centerfield wall gives the Chanticleers one of the finest baseball complexes in the country. The stadium has 2,500 chair back seats, 3 luxury boxes, grass berms on the right and left field sides, an open air party deck on the 3rd floor and a full board walk that runs from foul pole to foul pole. The facility also has a brand new score board and video board.
Ground was broken in the spring of 2010, the foundation started to be laid in July and in April of 2011 the New Coastal Carolina baseball/softball hitting and practice facility was opened.
The $1.2 million facility, built beyond the centerfield wall of Watson Stadium, has space for a full, artificial turf practice infield (17,424 square feet) with as many as 12 hitting cages featuring a mechanical netting system that can be raised and lowered accordingly from the ceiling. The covered facility will allow both teams to practice in cases of inclement weather, or just as an alternate area to give the teams more area for individual instruction.
